Distribution Schedule

The Fund for the City of New York has a long term commitment to the development and dissemination of Metrix. Metrix was first released in April 2004, and the subsequent distribution schedule is as follows below. The Fund for the City of New York is committed to the Metrix product and community through these releases, and beyond. We encourage your long-term involvement and commitment to the product and community as well.

Released Versions

Metrix - Version 1.5.1 (January 2008)

Metrix 1.5.1 is primarily a bug fix release. We've addressed bugs brought to our attention by the Metrix community of users. See the version 1.5 known issues page for a list of problems that were addressed with this release.

Metrix - Version 1.5 (April 2007)

Metrix 1.5 is a major new release. For the first time, it provides the ability to track pledges and payments, membership, communications, events, and programs. It is also the foundation for Metrix Plus 2, a package of software and support offered by the Fund.

Metrix - Version 1.4 (March 2007)

Metrix 1.4 introduces several major new features:

• We have completely redesigned the contacts directory so that you can now find, sort, and filter your contacts much more easily and quickly.
• We have vastly improved the way customization works in Metrix. Metrix now supports the use and creation of "modules." Modules are a way to organize and package the customizations you have made. Modules will soon allow you to easily share customizations with other organizations.
• Metrix 1.4 is the foundation for Metrix Plus Two, a package of additional Metrix software and services.

Metrix - Version 1.3 (March 2006)

The Fund for the City of New York released Metrix 1.3 in March 2006. The release addresses bugs encountered by the community in version 1.2, and delivers many performance and stability enhancements.

Metrix - Version 1.2 (Summer 2005)

The Fund for the City of New York released Metrix 1.2 in the summer of 2005. This is primarily a bug fix version that also includes several major enhancements made in response to user feedback.

Metrix - Version 1.1 (Fall 2004)

The Fund for the City of New York released the MSDE/SQL Server version of Metrix (formerly named "Up & Running") in September 2004. Note that users do not need a licensed copy of SQL Server to run this version, as Microsoft Data Engine (MSDE) is freely distributed by Microsoft and can be used by organizations that use Microsoft Access. Because of the performance improvement in this version 1.1 of Metrix, we do not recommend that users download or use the older versions of Up & Running.

Up & Running - Version 1.0.1 (Spring 2004)

The Fund for the City of New York distributed an updated version of the Metrix application in late April 2004. Important note: Metrix was originally released under the name Up & Running. The new name was chosen to reflect our focus on measuring your organization's performance. Capturing data is a critical part of this process, but to truly increase your ability to serve your members, your clients, and your community, you need the ability to output your data a variety of formats, to measure the work you've done, and to analyze the data you have collected. Our database gives you unlimited flexibility in the way you analyze your data, and to reflect this strength we have renamed it Metrix.
