Installing the Metrix Client

The following is a brief overview of the first-time installation of the Metrix Client, which consists of Metrix.adp. For a step-by-step walk through, see Step-By-Step Installation Instructions for Metrix Client.

For instructions on upgrading the Metrix Client from a previous version, see Client Upgrade Overview.

Note
Before installing the Metrix Client, you must install the Metrix Sever. To see if Metrix Server is installed on a computer, click Start and select Control Panel. Click the Add or Remove Programs icon and check the list to see if Metrix Server appears.

If you don't already have the Metrix server installed, see Server Installation Overview for more information.

Downloading and Launching the New Client Installer

  1. Download the Metrix Client from http://metrix.fcny.org
    You have to sign up for an account (if you don't already have one).
  2. Launch the installer and complete the installation wizard.
    The installation wizard will take you through the steps to install Metrix.adp.
  3. Launch the configuration wizard.
    The configuration wizard connects Metrix.adp to the database and sets references from Metrix.adp to the shared library files, interacsql.adp and reportsql.adp.
Entering a password
You'll have to enter a password to configure the files. The default installation password for the sa user account is admin.
