Filtering by name in version 1.4 You can filter by name on the Contacts Directory form in Metrix version 1.4 in addition to the Contact overview form. The Contacts Directory form is new to version 1.4; it isn't available in verion 1.3. See About the Contacts Directory Form for more information.

Filter by Name allows you to quickly search for a contact record or groups of contacts. This filter displays records that match in either the first or last name.

Note: Once you have turned a filter on, you must turn the filter off before you can view your complete set of records.

1. Press Filter on the Contact Toolbar and select Filter by Name.

   The Filter by Name form will be displayed.

2. Enter a name and press OK.

You can by search using the first or last name of a person or the name of an organization or family. If you do not recall the spelling, you can partially enter the name and Metrix will return any matches. The more certain you are of the spelling, the more your search will be narrowed.

Only the record or records matching the spelling you entered will be displayed. You can tell that you are viewing a filtered set if Filter On appears in red on the form and the Record Navigator displays the number of contact records matching the filter conditions.

Now you can scroll through the filtered records using the Record Navigator buttons.
