Installing and Configuring the Metrix Client

The following instructions guide you through the installation and configuration of the Metrix Client.

Note Before installing the Metrix Client, you must install the Metrix Sever. If you don't already have the Metrix server installed, see Server Installation Overview for more information.

Install the Metrix Client

1. If you haven't already done so, download the Metrix Client installer from http://metrix.fcny.org.
2. Launch the installer by double-clicking the downloaded file.
3. Click Next.

4. Click Next.

5. Select the I accept the terms in the license agreement option and click Next.

6. Type your name and organization and click Next.

7. Click Next.

8. Select the Install new Metrix client option and click Next.

9. Click Install.

The Installation is now complete. The next part will take you through configuring the Metrix Client. See Metrix Architecture Explained for more information on configuration.

Configure the Metrix Client

1. Click Start Wizard.

2. Click Next.

3. Select the Configure a new Metrix client option and click Next.

4. Locate the server files, interactsql.adp, reportsql.adp, and the client file, Metrix.adp and click Next.

5. Type the name of the Metrix MSDE/SQL instance or select it from the drop-down list.
   If you're installing the Metrix Client on the same computer as the Metrix Server, type (local)\Metrix.
6. Type in the password. (The default password for the sa user name is admin. This password can be changed from within the application).
7. Select the database name from the drop-down list and click Configure.

   The references from the client to the server files are being configured and the client is now being configured to connect to the database.
