There is a way to make the column headers "float" in Excel 2003 when you scroll through a spreadsheet. To make column headers float:

  1. Select the row underneath the header column by clicking the row number to highlight it.
  2. Click Window and select Freeze Panes.

Now when you scroll through the spreadsheet, the column headers will scroll too.
